About this piece
Introduction
You light one coil—two hours. In those two hours, smoke rises from the burner, drifting past flowers that never fade.
The hundred blossoms painted in enamel—they never wither. Like the beautiful things in your heart—as long as you remember them, they remain in bloom. The burner doesn’t hold ashes—it holds the time you set aside for yourself.Place the incense inside, close the lid. Then watch the smoke rise through the flowers. In this moment, a hundred blossoms open.A Message from the Artisan
When I designed this burner, I kept thinking: what kind of vessel is worthy of that wisp of smoke? Then I understood—it’s not about the vessel being worthy of the smoke. It’s about the smoke needing a place to rest.
Just like you, after a long day—you also need a place to just be, doing nothing.Hundred Blossoms is a place for that wisp of smoke to rest. And a place for you to rest too. Two hours, a hundred blossoms open. You’re here. The smoke is here. The flowers are here.“A hundred blossoms open.”
Material
Ceramic body with a copper lid
A Ritual of Stillness
Place a coil incense inside the burner and close the lid. Light through the opening and watch the smoke drift through the enamel flowers. The burner collects ash cleanly—simply remove and rinse after use.
The Story
The ancients said: among the nine grades of incense, the burner is first. No matter how fine the incense, without a burner worthy of it, that wisp of smoke is just smoke—not company.
This burner takes its name from “Hundred Blossoms”—not literal flowers, but the idea that every coil you light is a flower, slowly blooming within the burner.Ceramic as the bone, warm and smooth like jade. Enamel as the garment, a hundred flowers in full bloom. One coil, two hours—from first light to last ash, the smoke rises through the flowers, drifts past the petals, and dissolves into the air. It’s not a flower for your eyes—it’s a flower for your senses. Every wisp of smoke is the sound of a flower opening.| Weight | 0.3 lbs |
